Our Approach
Amity Foundation’s 39-unit, permanent supportive housing community in Tucson, AZ offers a place for unhoused individuals and families to stay, recover, and build critical life skills. Amity Foundation is deeply committed to addressing the crisis of homelessness by ensuring that qualifying unhoused individuals and families not only have a roof over their head, but also access to the critical support they need to get back on their feet – including trauma and substance abuse counseling, vocational training, job readiness support, and transportation.

“Catherine” had experienced much hatred, whether motivated by the fact the she was African American, or because she an addict or poor or a criminal. She was a mother of 5 children and 16 grandchildren.
After jumping through bureaucratic hoops and through the diligence of the director, “Catherine” became eligible for housing at Dragonfly. She began working and eventually received an associator’s degree in Substance Abuse/Chemical Dependency.
She applied for a first time buyers home and, after initially being rejected due to her criminal history, she was approved and bought a three bedroom home. She moved some of her family in and has been a true force and role model.
