Housing Services
Amity Foundation helps participants secure stable housing upon release, which is crucial in reducing recidivism and achieving a successful reentry.
Formerly incarcerated people in California are nearly 10 times more likely to be unstably housed or homeless than the general population, and homelessness is a significant factor for recidivism.
Amity Foundation helps its students secure stable housing upon release, a proven method of reducing recidivism and achieving successful reentry. In California, community-based reentry programs that combine housing with supportive services have reduced recidivism by roughly one-third. We demonstrate our belief that everyone deserves a second chance by implementing proven, evidence-based solutions.
Family Reunification
Building community is at the heart of Amity’s mission, a practice rooted in the strength and support of family. The concept of family isn’t just important to us – research has consistently shown that family support is one of the most important predictors of successful habilitation, providing emotional stability, practical assistance, and a foundation for long-term success. Our work centers on strengthening families, supporting reunification, and creating meaningful community for those who may not have consistent family support, because recovery and successful reentry depend on connection, belonging, and stability.
Alternatives to Traditional Incarceration
Pioneering the Community Reentry Program
What if incarceration focused on habilitation, stability, and community reintegration? Amity Foundation’s partnership with the California Department of Corrections and Rehabilitation answers that question in the form of the Male Community Rehabilitation Program (MCRP) and the Female Community Rehabilitation Program (FCRP).
MCRP and FCRP are designed to provide a wide range of habilitative services and trainings for participants in order to facilitate a successful reentry into their communities.
Each participant receives an assessment to determine their individual needs – from guidance and support, recovery groups, educational resources and workforce placement, or behavioral management.
Needs are then addressed through a variety of comprehensive services administered in a community-based setting, where participants gain independence and freedoms as they navigate the road to reentry.

Employment Services & Workforce Development
Our employment services team provides workforce development services including training, job placement, support services, case management, occupational therapy, softs-skill services, and work-based learning to our students.
Our students are able to participate and learn in a variety of training initiatives with our community college partners: East LA CC, Pierce College, and Antelope Valley. This is including our Certified Apartment Maintenance Technician Program, which has placed many of our students into careers in residential construction and management. Our students enter the workforce prepared and motivated to become productive members of their communities.
