La Entrada de Los Angeles

Los Angeles, CA

Our first dedicated community campus for women. La Entrada opened in January 2021.

Under the California Department of Corrections and Rehabilitation Custody to Community Transitional Reentry Program (CCTRP), this 60-bed residential community provides whole-person services during the last 45 days to 2 years of the students' sentence.

At La Entrada, we help students with beginning to break the multigenerational cycles of substance abuse, trauma, and violence through family reunification, parenting workshops, meditation, yoga and other learning plans.

Additionally, we partner with numerous agencies to provide vocational, GED, educational and employment services.

When Golda Meir was the Prime Minister of Israel, and Anwar Sadat was the President of Egypt, Anwar asked Golda, “When will there be peace in the Middle East?” Golda replied, “When we love our children more than we hate each other”.

Story From Our First Student

“My life completely changed when I came home to Amity’s La Entrada campus. After being in prison for 12 years, I was worried about what was going to happen to me once I was released. Even though I accomplished many things in prison and received many certificates I was still concerned.

Amity has given me the foundation to stand solid on. It has helped me grow into a strong, independent woman. I am able to truly be myself without fear or judgment. I am learning about myself and others. My road is coming to an end on this journey and I intend to continue to blossom with my newfound Amity family.”
